Bring ObsessOS Personal v0.1 to life
2026-08-30
ObsessOS crossed the line from a carefully specified idea into a live system we could actually use: one human, one question, one day.

ObsessOS began with a simple question: what happens if attention stops being something to divide efficiently and one question gets an entire day?
That idea became a small operating system built around one primitive: one human, one question, one day. A question can remain a Possibility until it earns a day, be prepared with a Brief, deliberately begun, left alone while the actual work happens, and then closed out into something worth remembering.
Getting something this simple to feel trustworthy required a surprising amount of precision. Scheduling, time zones, Begin, frozen history, relationship spacing, closeout, privacy, publishing, recovery, and deletion all had to behave correctly. The interface was stripped back until the product felt quiet enough to protect the idea instead of competing with it.
On August 30, the testing state was cleared away. A fresh real account was created, a genuine Possibility was scheduled, a Brief was prepared, and Begin Obsession was clicked for real. That was the threshold. ObsessOS Personal v0.1 was no longer mainly a product being tested. It had become something to live with.
The result is a working personal loop for giving a question a day, preserving what came back, and returning to it later without turning attention into another productivity scorecard.
